Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a dynamic and organized Quality Manager with strong leadership skills to oversee the facility wide program for assessing, improving and managing the quality of care and reducing risk within the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center located in Chicago, Illinois.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as the Quality Manager for the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Develops, implements, coordinates and monitors plans of corrective actions related to the identification of problems that negatively impact on the quality of care within the hospital.
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Chief Operating Officer and Central Office Administration to confirm the hospital meets or exceeds professional/accreditation standards.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.

Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible quality assurance and performance management administrative experience in the fields of health or human services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in assessing compliance with accreditation and certification standards within all operational systems, within a large and complex healthcare organization.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience coordinating, reviewing and evaluating a program for assessing and improving quality of care for a public or private organization.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience identifying and developing action plans to verify problems have been resolved and actions taken to improve quality of care for a public or private organization.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience developing, maintaining, and managing quality or safety assurance methods and processes by determining objectives, setting specifications, and assessing results.
  • Three (3) years of professional supervisory experience, including assigning work, providing guidance to subordinates, recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements, training staff and approving time off.
