Pima County Health Department is excited to announce recruitment for the Senior Manager for the Office of Chronic Disease Prevention & Management. In this role, you will lead the office by coordinating, amplifying, and expanding new and existing prevention and self-management strategies for a variety of chronic diseases. You will collaboratively create and deploy a long-term strategic vision for the office in alignment with County and department strategic initiatives. You will work with and manage a dedicated team of public health professionals to guide policy, systems, and environment strategies aimed at preventing and managing chronic diseases across all communities in Pima County. This position is a member of the Department's Senior Leadership Team, working to support public health staff across divisions and programs toward a vision of being the healthiest county in the nation.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in healthcare administration, public health, public or business administration or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND four years of related experience managing public health programs, clinics and/or community-based initiatives INCLUDING two years of direct supervisory experience.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
OR:
Three years of experience with Pima County as a Public Health Program Manager, Public Health Nursing Manager or other related management or supervisor level job classification as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Minimum two (2) years experience developing, implementing, evaluating, and enhancing strategic plans to advance broad public health goals.
Minimum two (2) years experience supervising and managing staff while fostering shared values and supporting employee growth and professional development.
Experience with/knowledge of public health approaches and best practices toward improved health outcomes.
Experience with/knowledge of chronic disease prevention and self management best practices.
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services’ review and approval of the candidate’s driving record.
