The Public Arts Manager will develop, plan, and implement projects, programs, and events to support and promote public art acting as a liaison with public agencies, private organizations, and community groups about public art, cultural programs, arts, and heritage programs. You will manage program growth and expand technology use in data collection. You will report to the Senior Director of Communications.
Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, Fine Arts, Visual or Performing Arts, or related field with knowledge of comprehensive and current art-related principles and procedures.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work under pressure to manage deadlines.
Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collect, analyze, and summarize information.
Three (3) to five (5) years professional experience in art gallery management, public art, or related field.

Assess, develop, and refine public art policies and procedures for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. You will develop strategic plans, timelines, and budgets for new public art projects. Work with different stakeholders to identify and scope opportunities, develop calls for artists, and manage the artist selection process. Develop and work with the appropriate committee(s) to commission artists for designated sites and make recommendations of artists for specific projects. You will manage project implementation with the artists from selection through installation. Develop public arts community outreach opportunities, educations, and presentations. Build relationships with arts professionals, arts communities, private companies, community representatives, interested parties, other cites, and governmental agencies, through meetings, public forums, panels, and other creative activities. You will track public art project contracts and maintain records, including a public arts database. Plan for maintenance and upkeep of past and future public art projects. Strategically plan communications and marketing of Choctaw Nation's Public Arts program with appropriate stakeholders. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
