Project controls manager - mission critical

Big-D Mission Critical is looking for a Project Controls Manager. The Project Controls Manager is responsible for overseeing project scheduling, cost management, forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking on large-scale data center construction projects.

This role serves as the project's financial and schedule performance leader, ensuring project teams have the data, forecasting, and insights needed to deliver complex data center projects safely, on time, and within budget.

This position can be based in Reno, NV or in a traveling position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project schedules, cost controls, forecasting, and budget reporting.
• Develop and maintain master schedules, milestone tracking, and recovery plans.
• Monitor project progress, productivity, earned value, and key performance metrics.
• Analyze schedule and cost impacts, risks, and change management activities.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for project leadership and clients.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure alignment of schedule and cost objectives.
• Support monthly forecasting, cash flow analysis, and project performance reviews.
• Identify trends and develop mitigation strategies to improve project outcomes.
• Assist with executive reporting and client-facing project controls presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in project controls, scheduling, cost management, or construction management.
• Experience on large commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects preferred.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Excel, and project management software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
