Position Overview

The Program Manager for Outpatient Facility leads day-to-day clinical operations and performance for Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital’s outpatient services, ensuring care delivery aligns with outpatient guidelines and remains compliant with applicable state and federal laws. This role is designed to coordinate people, processes, and contracted resources so quality outcomes, documentation standards, and safety expectations are consistently met.

Core Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of LPNs, MHTs, and contracted clinicians and vendors (laboratory, x-ray, and pharmacy);
• Creating and maintaining an efficient program plan;
• Cultivating effective community, state, and federal relationships;
• Implementing services within budget constraints;
• Recruiting and retaining staff with the skills and attitudes needed for the program;
• Establishing, overseeing, and continuously improving the outpatient quality assurance program.

Quality oversight includes monitoring and improving service quality, documentation quality, patient safety and infection control, contracted-service performance, community education, attendance/census against projected goals, and staff education and training. The Program Manager also completes other duties as assigned by the Administrator and/or CEO and performs clinical duties within their licensure (RN or clinician) as required.

Qualifications/Skills

• Master’s-level licensed clinician OR RN with 5+ years treating mental health disorders
• Demonstrated QA/PI, documentation, and regulatory compliance capability
• Strong supervision, coordination, risk-management skills

Typical Workday Flow

Onsite in Baton Rouge, you work Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30, starting with a quick review of census/attendance, open QA items, and any safety or infection-control concerns. You then huddle with LPNs, MHTs, and contracted partners to confirm schedules, coverage, and priorities for the day. As services run, you make purposeful rounds—spot-checking documentation for completeness, addressing workflow barriers, and reinforcing outpatient guideline expectations in real time. You also manage scheduled touchpoints with community and regulatory contacts, keeping communication timely and well documented. Late afternoon is reserved for closing the loop: staffing updates, training follow-through, vendor performance notes, and progress against action plans so outcomes remain measurable and compliant.
