With a student-to-faculty ratio of 13:1, the College engages its 2,500+ students in 80+ rigorous academic programs in the liberal arts, sciences, and pre-professional fields. Faithful to the Holy Cross tradition in education, Stonehill College is committed to developing the moral, spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social competencies of its students and seeks to build and sustain a campus community that embraces diversity and inclusion in its teaching, learning, living, and working. Stonehill values a diversity of persons, opinions, and cultural and religious perspectives. The Department of Healthcare Management in the Leo J. This person would join a department with faculty representing a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion among faculty and students. This position carries a non-tenure-track status and is eligible for advancement and promotion. This is a full-time on-campus position, and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus.
The Meehan School of Business is home to a state-of-the-art instructional facility completed in August 2019. The business and innovation activities housed in the new building include team-based learning classrooms, a one-button studio, and a capital markets research and instruction room. The adaptive classrooms with the latest technology encourage interdisciplinary student, faculty, and industry interactions. The Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Management Program in the Meehan School of Business maintains full certification status with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration. The AACSB-accredited Meehan School of Business also offers minors in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare Management. At the graduate level, Stonehill College offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as a Master of Science in Data Analytics and a Master of Science in Marketing.
The selected candidate will deliver courses at the undergraduate level. The course load is 8 courses per academic year (4 per semester) and may include:
We seek applicants with a strong interest in teaching and applied practice in the fields of Healthcare Management, specifically healthcare operations and technology. Candidates must hold at least a master’s degree (e.g., MHA, MBA, Master of Science). Preferred areas of expertise include professional responsibility and ethics, quality improvement (especially Lean thinking approaches), electronic medical records, AI implementation in healthcare, telehealth, and data analytics. Professional certification (e.g., higher-level Lean certification), undergraduate teaching experience, current professional practice, and ongoing engagement with the professional community are strongly preferred. A commitment to service to the Department, School, and College is also essential. The applicant must show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals. Consistent with Stonehill College's commitment to student recruitment and engagement, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in undergraduate admission activities, including Open Houses and Admitted Student Welcome Days. The faculty member will also contribute to virtual and in-person engagement initiatives designed to connect prospective students and their families with the Healthcare Management Program and the broader Stonehill community.
Interested applicants should submit online a letter of application (cover letter), curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy statement, and evidence of teaching effectiveness (such as summaries of student evaluations), if available. References will be asked for at later stages. Please email inquiries regarding this position to Dr. Mitchell Glavin at mglavin@stonehill.edu.
