Job Summary:

As a Production Accountant at Netflix, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management of our projects. You will be responsible for managing cost reporting, vendor onboarding, payroll review, and ensuring all costs are accurately tracked and reported. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

What you’ll do:

• Monthly Reporting, Cost Reporting & Consolidation
• Add new titles to the accounting system and ensure accurate setup.
• Populate actuals, Estimates to Complete (ETCs), and Estimates Final Cost (EFCs) for each title.
• Review actuals for accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
• Add new contractual agreements as needed.
• Collaborate with associates to review and verify data.
• Prepare and provide final copies of reports for manager review.

• Accounts Payable & Supplier Setup
• Oversee vendor onboarding and ensure timely setup in systems.
• Process invoices (e.g., voice recording studios, music, travel, and independent contractors).
• Manage funding disbursements.

• Journals & Data Integrity
• Maintain clean and accurate accounting data, including reclassifications as needed.

• Payroll
• Review and approve payroll for various teams.
• Respond to payroll team requests and address any issues promptly.

• Filing & Documentation
• Maintain a well-organized and comprehensive filing system for each title.
• Ensure all pay schedules, invoices, email approvals, and backup documentation are properly saved in internal show folders.

• Buyback Requests
• Run actuals and provide cost backup for buyback requests related to passed or abandoned titles as needed.

• System & Process Improvement
• Recommend and help implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
• Ensure all costs are fully and accurately captured.

• Compliance
• Ensure all projects adhere to union standards.
• Stay current on union minimums and fringe benefits.

• Communication
• Maintain regular communication with the Production Finance team and other key production stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in production accounting or a similar role, preferably in entertainment or media.
• Strong understanding of production finance workflows and systems.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $77,000.00 - $137,000.00.
