Product Manager, New Business Acceleration, Novel Compute, Networking and Sensing

GlobalFoundries is seeking an entrepreneurial and highly versatile leader to help identify, incubate, and commercialize new growth opportunities across novel compute, networking and sensing architectures and adjacent emerging technology domains.

This role will operate at the intersection of business development, product management, product marketing, strategy, ecosystem development. Working directly with senior leadership, the successful candidate will help transform promising technologies into scalable businesses by building customer engagement, developing partnerships, shaping commercialization strategies, and leading cross-functional execution.

The scope of the role spans multiple compute, networking and sensing architectures, including quantum sensing, quantum networking, advanced photonics networking, advanced materials, next-generation memory architectures, superconducting computing, optical computing, AI infrastructure technologies, post-quantum encryption and other disruptive platforms.

This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in ambiguous environments, enjoys building new businesses from the ground up, and can effectively bridge technology, customers, partners, and commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and incubate new business opportunities across advanced computing, photonic networking and compute, quantum, advanced materials, memory, and other emerging technology domains.
• Develop business models, commercialization strategies, value propositions, and go-to-market plans for new products, platforms, and services.
• Drive customer engagements, strategic partnerships, joint development programs, and ecosystem initiatives from initial concept through commercial execution.
• Lead cross-functional incubation programs involving R&D, engineering, manufacturing, finance, legal, and business stakeholders.
• Represent GF in customer meetings, industry events, strategic partnerships, government programs, and technology ecosystems.
• Support the development of funding opportunities, strategic initiatives, and external collaborations that accelerate the commercialization of emerging technologies.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, and emerging architectures to guide portfolio investment decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Materials Science, Quantum Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in product management, strategic marketing, business leadership, or technology commercialization within semiconductors, novel compute, memory, sensing and networking architectures, advanced packaging, or quantum technologies.
• Demonstrated success launching and scaling complex technology platforms from concept through commercialization.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, novel device architectures, process technology development, and technology roadmapping.
• Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams across business, engineering, and R&D organizations.
• Strong customer-facing and executive communication skills.
• Travel – 25+% of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience with novel compute, sensing, memory and networking architectures.
• Familiarity with a broad set of hardware architectures, scaling challenges, and manufacturability requirements.
• Experience working with startups, hyperscalers, research institutions, or government-funded programs.
• Existing network within the semiconductor ecosystem and experience establishing strategic technology partnerships.
• MBA or equivalent business leadership experience.
