Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist I supports and manages procurement activities for assigned projects including subcontract administration, purchase orders, vendor coordination, material tracking, and delivery support. This role works closely with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to help keep procurement efforts organized, on schedule, and aligned with project goals. The position also supports procurement planning, resolves day-to-day procurement issues, and assists the Procurement Specialist II as needed. The Procurement Specialist I is expected to work independently on more entry to mid level procurement tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Procurement Specialist I team members.
  2. Assist with resolving procurement-related issues including delivery delays, documentation discrepancies, and scope clarifications.
  3. Coordinate with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and field staff to support procurement schedules and project needs.
  4. Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, subcontractors, project teams, and internal departments.
  5. Prepare, issue, and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and other procurement documentation.
  6. Review vendor and subcontractor proposals for completeness, pricing, and compliance with project requirements.
  7. Support and manage procurement activities for assigned projects from planning through delivery.
  8. Support continuous improvement efforts for procurement processes, tracking tools, and reporting practices.
  9. Support procurement planning efforts including long lead equipment tracking and schedule alignment.
  10. Track material deliveries, procurement status, and supplier performance to help ensure on-time execution.

Minimum Job Requirements

  1. 0-2 years of experience dealing with customer inventors.
  2. 0-2 years of procurement experience.
  3. A four-year degree in business, finance, supply management, or engineering, with related experience preferred.
  4. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

Physical Requirements

  1. May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  2. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  3. Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  4. Will interact with people and technology frequently during a shift/work day.
  5. Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs on an occasional basis.
  6. Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
  7. Will use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices on a frequent basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
