Job Description

Join our laboratory team as a PRN (as needed) Pathologists Assistant!

Pathologist Assistant needed to help with daytime coverage of grossing surgical specimens!

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

  1. Performs procedures to prepare surgical specimens for diagnostic pathology under Pathologist’s direct supervision.
  2. Utilizes resources and techniques effectively according to established policies and procedures.
  3. Maintains skills and knowledge to promote the Pathology Department’s services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Certification preferred.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience in Pathology Assistant role.
  • Knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the histology department.
  • Knowledgeable regarding surgical and autopsy pathology.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the identification of all tissue specimens.
  • Knowledgeable in the preparation of frozen sections.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Prefer Knowledge and use of voice recognition.

SALARY RANGE:

  • $48.62 to $72.92/hour +14% PRN Differential Pay.
  • Entry salary dependent upon education, skill set, and experience.
