The Roberta Faccio Lab studies the bone–immune system interaction, focusing on molecules that regulate immune cell activation and osteoclast function in diseases like inflammatory arthritis and breast cancer bone metastasis.
The lab investigates the osteo‑immune cross‑talk that occurs in pathological conditions where both bone and immune systems are activated, such as inflammatory arthritis and breast cancer bone metastasis.
The lab’s central goal is to identify common molecular targets that can modulate immune cell activation (e.g., neutrophils, dendritic cells, myeloid‑derived suppressor cells) and osteoclast activity (bone‑resorbing cells).
