Planning & Scheduling Manager - Owensboro KY

Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and manage master production schedules to support customer and business requirements.
  • Lead short- and mid-term planning with at least six months of production visibility.
  • Balance capacity, labor, equipment constraints, and material availability.
  • Adjust schedules to respond to operational disruptions, supply issues, and changing priorities.
  • Maintain effective use of MPS, MRP, and ERP systems.
• Forecasting & Inventory Management
  • Partner with commercial teams to develop forecasts and improve planning accuracy.
  • Analyze sales trends, market data, and operational requirements.
  • Develop planning models that support growth and capacity needs.
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting demand and supply.
  • Establish inventory strategies that balance service and working capital goals.
  • Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
  • Lead inventory optimization while reducing excess and obsolete stock.
• Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead, coach, and develop planning and scheduling team members.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting processes to measure performance.
  • Drive initiatives that improve service, cost, quality, and inventory results.
  • Foster collaboration across supply chain and manufacturing functions.
• Reporting & Analytics
  • Analyze operational data to support business decisions.
  • Monitor key metrics including inventory levels, service performance, output reliability, and volume attainment.
  • Prepare management reports and improvement recommendations.
  • Support annual planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. APICS/CPIM, CSCP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications preferred.

Experience

7+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations. 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems, forecasting, inventory control, and capacity planning.

Strong leadership and team development capabilities. Advanced planning, organizational, and analytical skills. Strategic thinking and business acumen. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Annual Base Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000
