Austin Radiological Association (ARA) is seeking Pediatric Radiologists to join our growing pediatric section in Austin, Texas. We are welcoming candidates with interests in Pediatric General/Body Radiology, Pediatric Interventional Radiology, or a combination of both.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a close-knit team of pediatric specialists providing advanced imaging and procedural care to children throughout Central Texas. With more than 90% pediatric cases, you can maintain a true pediatric focus while benefiting from the clinical variety, resources, and subspecialty support of one of the country's most established radiology practices.
Based at Dell Children's Medical Center, our pediatric team cares for a broad and complex patient population, including patients from throughout Central Texas and beyond. The hospital is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, creating a sophisticated and diverse clinical environment for pediatric radiologists.
Whether your passion is pediatric body imaging, pediatric diagnostic radiology, pediatric procedures, or interventional radiology, this opportunity offers clinical complexity, collaboration, academic involvement, and lifestyle flexibility to build a rewarding long-term career.
Our pediatric section offers flexibility for physicians with different clinical interests. The ideal candidate will enjoy a broad spectrum of pediatric diagnostic imaging while maintaining a predominantly pediatric practice.
The pediatric section provides subspecialist support for Pediatric Neuro, MSK MRI, and Interventional Radiology, allowing you to focus on your area of expertise while working within a comprehensive pediatric radiology team.
For physicians with a passion for procedures, this opportunity provides access to a growing pediatric procedural environment supported by an experienced pediatric radiology team and dedicated procedural resources.
Pediatric IR candidates will have opportunities to participate in advanced pediatric image-guided procedures while collaborating closely with pediatric specialists and multidisciplinary care teams.
The practice also includes a pediatric-specific procedural APP, providing additional support for the pediatric interventional service.
You won't be joining a general radiology group that occasionally reads pediatric cases. You'll join a dedicated pediatric radiology section with a clinical focus of more than 90% pediatric imaging.
The section is based at Dell Children's Medical Center and provides specialized diagnostic and interventional services to children across Central Texas and beyond. Dell Children's is a 248-bed freestanding pediatric facility serving a 46-county area and is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU.
The practice also serves additional pediatric facilities and outpatient imaging centers throughout Austin. This creates an environment with the combination of high pediatric volume, clinical complexity, subspecialty collaboration, and academic opportunity that many pediatric radiologists are looking for.
The pediatric section maintains a shared coverage model designed to provide predictable scheduling while ensuring comprehensive pediatric coverage.
The practice also offers flexible internal moonlighting, including shift-based and pay-per-study opportunities, allowing physicians to increase their earning potential when desired.
If you enjoy teaching, this opportunity offers a natural pathway to academic involvement. ARA physicians serve as radiology faculty for UT Dell Medical School, providing opportunities to teach:
There are also opportunities to participate in leadership, education, research, and multidisciplinary clinical initiatives. Whether you want to remain primarily clinical or build a larger academic presence, there is flexibility to shape your involvement around your interests.
ARA is a nationally recognized radiology practice with a 73+-year legacy of excellence and more than 118 radiologists+ serving hospitals and outpatient imaging centers throughout Central Texas. ARA currently serves 24 hospitals and operates 18 outpatient imaging centers, with expansion plans underway to grow to 19 outpatient imaging centers by the end of 2026.
Through its academic relationship with Dell Medical School, ARA provides opportunities for physicians interested in teaching, mentorship, and academic collaboration. Our mission is simple: To Transform Radiology.
Whether you're a Pediatric General/Body Radiologist, Pediatric Interventional Radiologist, or a physician with interests spanning both, this opportunity provides the clinical resources, case volume, academic environment, and career flexibility to build something long-term.
Final compensation determinations may vary based on factors including education, work experience, certifications, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
Austin offers an exceptional combination of professional opportunity and quality of life.
If you're looking for a high-volume pediatric practice with 90%+ pediatric cases, complex clinical work, partnership potential, exceptional PTO, academic opportunities, and strong physician support, we would love to connect with you.
Whether your passion is Pediatric General/Body Radiology, Pediatric Interventional Radiology, or both, ARA offers the opportunity to build a career around the work you enjoy most.
