Position Overview

Above All Talent Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-established provider of retail and campus-store services for independent schools. Our client is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Sales Associate/Cashier to support daily store operations at an independent-school campus store in Concord, New Hampshire. This is a part-time, hourly role operating on an academic-year schedule. The Sales Associate/Cashier will help create a welcoming customer experience for students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and campus visitors while supporting sales, cashiering, merchandise replenishment, inventory activities, and general store presentation.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with the public, is comfortable handling transactions accurately, takes pride in maintaining an organized retail environment, and can work a flexible schedule during key academic and event periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service in a busy campus-store environment.
• Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale and basic cash-handling procedures.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and responding to routine product or store-related questions.
• Maintain merchandise displays, replenish sales-floor inventory, and monitor stock levels.
• Support processing of incoming merchandise and general store organization.
• Perform basic cleaning, housekeeping, and presentation tasks to maintain a neat, safe, and inviting store environment.
• Communicate customer feedback, requests, and operational needs to store management.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle-count activities.
• Help safeguard company assets and follow established store policies and procedures.
• Provide shift coverage, when available, for occasional unexpected absences or changing business needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by store management.

Schedule and Availability

This position follows an academic-year schedule and is designed around the school calendar. Typical regular store hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During standard academic weeks, when there are no major registration periods or campus events, hours generally average approximately 8 to 14 hours per week. Hours increase during high-volume periods, including the beginning of academic terms, registration days, Family Weekend, Reunion Weekend, and other scheduled campus events. Associates are generally expected to work Saturdays during the academic year while students are on campus. Availability over Labor Day Weekend, when the fall term begins, is required. The store may operate on a limited number of Sundays during the year and may have extended hours for special events. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible. There are generally no part-time hours during school vacation periods when students are not on campus, unless otherwise communicated by management.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service, retail, cashiering, or hospitality experience is preferred, though training may be provided for the right candidate.
• Comfortable using basic computer systems, point-of-sale technology, and standard retail equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and welcoming approach to customers and colleagues.
• Ability to accurately read, count, write, and complete routine documentation.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Comfortable working a variable part-time schedule that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays or special-event hours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle boxes of merchandise and store fixtures as needed.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the role in a retail-store environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
