Part-Time Afternoon Teacher - Daycare & Preschool

The Learning Experience - Manassas City, VA

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

Preferred Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM-6:00 PM

The Learning Experience - Manassas City is seeking an experienced Part-Time Afternoon Teacher to help keep our classrooms engaging, organized, and running smoothly throughout the second half of the day.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants consistent weekday afternoon hours in an early childhood education environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support classrooms and teachers throughout the afternoon
• Engage children through art, stories, music, movement, play, and hands-on activities
• Assist with meals, snacks, rest time, transitions, and afternoon routines
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management
• Help maintain required classroom ratios
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Support classroom organization and end-of-day procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
• Follow Virginia licensing and center requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous professional childcare experience required
• Experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood classroom strongly preferred
• Comfortable working with different age groups as needed
• Reliable and able to work the preferred Monday-Friday afternoon schedule
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must meet Virginia licensing requirements for the position
