Operations manager

An established professional services organization is seeking a highly capable, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, build effective processes, and strengthen team performance. This individual will work directly with executive leadership to develop and implement operational systems, improve workflows, and ensure consistent execution across departments. The role involves supporting employees across US-based and offshore teams, managing workloads, and establishing clear accountability. The ideal candidate is a natural problem-solver who enjoys building structure from the ground up. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who can turn operational challenges into practical solutions, implement lasting improvements, and create a seamless experience for clients from onboarding through ongoing service.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Operational Management
• Oversee daily operations and support teams across US-based and offshore locations.
• Conduct weekly check-ins with team members and managers to review progress, address challenges, and support professional development.
• Monitor staffing levels, workloads, and team capacity to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Improve delegation and workflow distribution to maximize employee productivity.
• Establish accountability and ensure teams consistently meet deadlines and performance expectations.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.

4+ years of experience in operations, practice management, or client services required. Proven experience leading and managing teams. Demonstrated success developing SOPs, building workflows, and implementing operational processes from scratch. Experience managing, coordinating, or delegating work to remote or offshore employees. Strong understanding of workload management, delegation, and operational efficiency. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Operations Management. Experience using project management or workflow software such as Teamwork, Asana, or similar platforms. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement practical, lasting solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accountability across departments. Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with senior leadership. Strong commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. Experience in an accounting firm, CPA practice, fractional CFO firm, or financial advisory organization is a strong plus.
