We are actively hiring an Infusion Nurse (Oncology) to support our Valkyrie Clinical Trials Walnut Creek, California site.

LOCATION: Onsite, Walnut Creek, CA
FLSA: Non-Exempt
HOURS: Monday to Friday, Day Shift, 40 hours per week
COMPENSATION: $52-$70 per hour, based on experience

PURPOSE: This role is responsible for providing compassionate and competent care of oncology patients while performing IV infusions, and/or injections of blinded and unblinded study drugs, obtaining blood specimens, and maintaining accurate source documentation. To uphold the integrity and reliability of clinical trial data collected. To ensure the safe and compliant administration of investigational products and collection of clinical data in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• A. Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• B. Perform IV infusion and IM/SQ injections of blinded and unblinded investigational products according to study protocols.
• C. Obtain blood specimens and other biological samples from study participants/patients following proper clinical procedures.
• D. Ensure accurate and timely source documentation in compliance with GCP and sponsor guidelines.
• E. Monitor participants/patients for infusion reactions and adverse events and report and document findings per protocol, regulatory requirements, and site SOPs.
• F. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of study data and all participant/patient information.
• G. Collaborate with investigators, study coordinators, pharmacy, and other clinical staff to ensure protocol compliance.
• H. Participate in training sessions and maintain current knowledge of clinical trial procedures and safety standards.
• I. Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with all staff, clients, and vendors.
• J. Additional duties as assigned by management.
• K. Communicate effectively, compassionately, and professionally with patients and guests, physicians, employees, and all others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• A. Work is performed on-site in an outpatient clinical office setting.
• B. Local travel may be required to other sites as applicable.
• C. Daily computer use.
• D. Exposure to human bodily fluids.
• E. Participant/Patient care.
• F. Occasional evening and weekend work schedules.
• G. Ability to properly lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more than thirty-five pounds.
• H. Ability to drive and daily availability of an automobile.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

• A. Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• B. ONS/ONCC certification strongly preferred.
• C. GCP certification preferred.
• D. BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• A. Minimum 2+ years' experience as an oncology infusion nurse.
• B. Clinical research experience strongly preferred.
• C. Proficiency in IV infusion, vascular access, port care, injections, and phlebotomy required.
• D. Proficient with EMR/EHR platforms.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• A. Working knowledge of clinical research methods preferred.
• B. Critical thinking with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• C. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and align with operations.
• D. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• E. Ability to communicate effectively, compassionately, and professionally with patients and guests, physicians, employees, and all others.
• F. Excellent computer skills to include EMR, Office365 and other products.
• G. Experience in reviewing Standard Operating Procedures preferred.
• H. Strong problem solving, risk assessment and impact analysis abilities.
• I. Demonstrated experience in process improvement.
• J. Flexible, able to multi-task, and prioritize competing demands.
• K. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• L. Ability to think and work independently with minimal supervision.
• M. Possess strong clinical nursing and patient care skills.
