Nursing Director – Emergency Department

Detroit, Michigan | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director to lead Emergency Department nursing operations, with responsibility for clinical practice, quality, staffing, patient safety, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop ED nursing teams and subordinate leaders.
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, recruitment, and staff development.
• Ensure quality patient care and compliance with nursing and regulatory standards.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, and financial performance.
• Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care and outcomes.
• Develop and implement nursing policies, standards, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Support employee engagement, professional development, and organizational goals.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field; one degree must be in Nursing.
• Active Michigan RN license.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical and/or progressively responsible management experience.
• Nursing specialty certification preferred; certification required within one year of hire.
• Strong leadership, communication, financial management, and quality-improvement skills.
