Nurse Practitioner - PRN

Specialty: Immediate Care

Location: Valparaiso, IN (may require travel to other Immediate Care locations: Crown Point, St. John, Schererville, Munster)

Must have previous direct work experience as a Nurse Practitioner

Position is PRN, as needed basis

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; Masters of Nursing degree required
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience required; 5 years preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana
• Prescriptive authority privileges in State of Indiana
• Board Certification is required to be granted necessary hospital privileges for employment
• CPR certification required

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice and medical care to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program. Skills in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency work situations; able to prioritize patients according to their clinical needs; strong time management skills to balance both patient care and chart completion. Thorough knowledge of pharmacologic agents used in patient treatments. Strong decision making and practice skills.
