Hours: Monday - Sunday, 7P-7A; 7 on 7 off

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Provides care of hospitalized patients and has full control of a patient throughout their entire shift.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Master’s degree in Nursing. Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Critical thinking. Excellent communication skills. Ability to complete comprehensive physical exam, diagnose and formulate a medical management plan. Ability to collaborate with attending physician.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Hospitalist or acute care setting preferred. 2 years experience preferred.
