MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST

Part-time schedule - 16 hours per week with flexible schedule

Pay range: $18.07-$20.00 per hour based on experience

Join the HopeWest team as a Merchandising Specialist and help turn donated treasures into meaningful finds for our customers while supporting a mission that makes a difference in our community.

The Merchandising Specialist is responsible for preparing, researching, pricing, organizing, and merchandising hard goods for sale within HopeWest retail locations. Hard goods include, but are not limited to, housewares, dishes, home décor, antiques, collectibles, artwork, and furniture. This position uses sound judgment and attention to detail to help determine appropriate pricing, maintain organized inventory and storage areas, and create attractive merchandise displays that support sales and the overall customer experience. The specialist also assists with seasonal merchandise transitions and supports general merchandising, customer service, and retail operations as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Knowledge of antiques, collectibles, artwork, vintage merchandise, housewares, furniture, or home decor.
• Experience researching resale values and establishing retail prices.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
• A creative eye for merchandising, presentation, and display.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
• Dependability, flexibility, and a willingness to assist wherever needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to safely lift, move, and organize merchandise, with or without reasonable accommodation, consistent with the physical requirements of the position.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in retail, merchandising, resale, consignment, antiques, collectibles, or related field highly preferred.
