Coordinates the administration of all medical staff services support activities for the Medical Staff Office. Ensures the needs of the medical staff are met through efficient systems and processes in compliance with applicable accreditation and government agency standards and requirements.
High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's preferred. A Bachelor's degree may substitute the experience requirement.
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification by the National Association Medical Staff Services preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum of two years of direct experience. A Bachelor's degree may offset the experience requirement. Experience to include: Demonstrated experience in a hospital and/or managed care setting; working with multi-specialty groups and/or other integrated delivery systems; Medical Staff Services and Credentialing experience. Knowledge of Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS state license requirements, and other regulatory and accrediting entities. Strong interpersonal skills along with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills needed. Knowledgeable of current trends and practices in all aspects of credentialing and privileging.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
