The Manager of Lifelong Learning provides strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the Lifelong Learning team.

Working in partnership with operational leaders, subject-matter experts, Human Resources, and other stakeholders, this leader ensures learning programs are relevant, accessible, measurable, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Job Duties:

  • Lead the overall Lifelong Learning and L&D strategy, ensuring programs support organizational goals, workforce development needs, and employee career growth.
  • Direct, coach, and develop the Lifelong Learning team.
  • Establish team priorities, clarify roles and accountabilities, manage workloads and resources, and foster a collaborative, service-oriented learning culture.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of learning programs for skilled and technical roles.
  • Lead the development and evolution of the organization’s new-hire onboarding and initial training experience to support employee readiness, engagement, and retention.
  • Guide professional-development programs that build employees’ business, interpersonal, technical, and career-development skills.
  • Develop and manage leadership-development programs for current and emerging leaders, including foundational leadership training, manager development, and succession-support initiatives.
  • Partner with business and operational leaders to identify skills gaps, performance needs, training priorities, and future workforce capability requirements.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to create, maintain, and deliver accurate, practical, and effective learning content.
  • Ensure learning pathways, curricula, and training materials are organized by role, career stage, capability, and business need.
  • Oversee administration and optimization of the learning management system (LMS), including learner records, course assignments, completion reporting, user access, content management, and system enhancements.
  • Establish processes and standards for training documentation, learning records, course evaluations, and compliance-related learning requirements.
  • Monitor participation, completion, learner feedback, knowledge retention, and business outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Use learning data and stakeholder feedback to recommend enhancements to programs, delivery methods, tools, and learning experiences.
  • Manage the L&D budget, vendor relationships, external training resources, and learning technology investments as applicable.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by increasing awareness of development opportunities and encouraging employees and leaders to take ownership of growth.
  • Ensure learning programs are inclusive, accessible, consistent, and aligned with organizational policies and values.
  • Stay informed about effective learning practices, adult-learning principles, leadership development approaches, and relevant training technologies to continuously strengthen the organization’s L&D offerings.
  • Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all Safety Guidelines.
  • Committing to Lifelong Learning by completing all assigned learning and seeking opportunities to improve self.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline is preferred. In the absence of a degree, directly related education, training, certifications, and professional experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position may be considered, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement.
