About the Role

As the Manager at Kula Shave Ice, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our shop runs smoothly and our customers leave with smiles on their faces. This isn’t just a shift-lead position — you’ll set the tone for the entire crew, fostering a positive, family-oriented work environment while maintaining our high standards for customer service and product quality. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, enjoy working with a small, tight-knit team, and have a knack for leadership, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations at our shop in downtown Hilo, HI (57 Mamo Street).
• Set the tone for the team by modeling exceptional customer service rooted in Hawaiian hospitality.
• Train, support, and motivate team members to deliver top-notch service and products.
• Ensure the shop maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
• Assist with scheduling, ensuring availability for weekends and special events.
• Oversee inventory and ensure our homemade syrups and ingredients are always fresh and ready to go.
• Innovate and collaborate with the team to introduce new products and ideas.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or food service role is preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability: Must be available to work weekends; weekly schedules are set based on availability.
• Personality: A positive, can-do attitude with a passion for creating unforgettable customer experiences.
• Bonus Points: Previous food service experience is a plus, but not required. We’re happy to train the right candidate who’s eager to learn and grow with us.
