A Day in the Life

As an LPN Staff Nurse at Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center, you’ll deliver high-quality, individualized nursing care to children and young adults with complex medical needs, monitoring their progress, implementing care plans, and being a steady, caring presence every shift. You’ll work alongside RNs, Respiratory Therapists, and an expert interdisciplinary team in a supportive environment where learning and growth are part of the culture.

Schedule: We offer self-scheduling to support your work-life balance!

Day shifts: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Night shifts: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Hours: 24, 30, or 36 hours per week
Weekend shifts/rotation required

How This Position Contributes to Our Mission

• Deliver compassionate, individualized nursing care to children with complex medical needs, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort every shift
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and monitor individualized care plans
• Provide tracheostomy and ventilator care — training is available for those new to this area
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Educate residents and families on managing medical conditions to support long-term health outcomes
• Foster a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that supports the healing and growth of every resident

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

• Active, unencumbered LPN license in Kentucky
• Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with children and families
• Commitment to trauma-informed care and collaborative teamwork

Preferred:

• Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or long-term care
• No vent or trach experience? No problem.
• We provide training for nurses who are new to ventilator and tracheostomy care. What matters most is your commitment to learning and your passion for the population we serve.
