Job Description

AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a day-shift contract at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, CA (Medical, 8-hour shifts).

Assignment details

Location: Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility (RJD), San Diego, CA
Dates: 11/30/2026 - 03/28/2027 (4 months)
Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (8-hour shifts, 30-min meal)
Orientation: 2 weeks

Responsibilities

Provide nursing and psychiatric care to incarcerated patients
Give medications and treatments and document care accurately
Follow all safety, security and contraband procedures

Requirements

Active California LPT license (BVNPT)
Current BLS (AHA)
Correctional or behavioral health experience preferred
Background check and facility security clearance
TB test, immunizations and facility health clearances
