Description of Work

Murdoch nurses work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team with physicians, psychologists, pharmacists, psychiatrists, and social workers to name just a few. Nurses gain professional fulfillment through the provision of evidence-based nursing practice with a person-centered approach.

ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $46,220.00 - $56,812.00

A Sign-on bonus of $4,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting.

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina or in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.

Conditional Requirement:

• Successful candidate must be able to pass Healthcare Provider CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) written and physical requirements as a condition of employment.
• Successful candidate must have a valid Driver License.

This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)

Scheduled work hours/shift:

Weekend Option- 12 hour shifts 6:30am-7pm. Schedule adjustments as needed/requested.

OPTION #1: 6:30am - 7:00pm F/S/S (36 hr - one week), F/S/S/M (48hr - one week), rotating every other weekend

OPTION #2: 6:30am - 7:00pm F/S/S; 36 hours/week - Permanent Part-Time

Shift Work Schedule Shift Premium

• 1st 6:30am-3pm 10% Weekend Only
• 2nd 2:30pm-11pm 15% Weekday & 25% Weekend
• 3rd 10:45pm-6:45am 20% Weekday & 30% Weekend

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

• The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months.
• The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency.
• DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

All Sign-on Bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
