Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Specialist - Production Supervision is responsible for supporting and supervising daily shop floor operations of approximately 44 hourly & contract employees to ensure production goals, safety standards, quality requirements, and delivery targets are consistently achieved. This role provides front-line leadership to production personnel, coordinates resources, resolves operational issues, and drives continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. Based in Pensacola, FL, this position works closely with production teams, maintenance, quality, engineering, and materials teams to maintain efficient operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capability, operational discipline, technical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

As a Production Supervisor in the Machine Head Department of the Wind Turbines unit

you will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. In this unit, we perform assembly of 2X and 3X Machine Heads, drive trains and main shafts for Wind Turbines. You will impact departmental operations and be responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shop floor activities to ensure production schedules, output targets, and customer delivery requirements are met.
• Coordinate production manpower, materials, and equipment to support efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
• Monitor daily operations and adjust work assignments to maintain productivity and operational continuity.
• Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with established quality standards, work instructions, and process requirements.
• Provide front-line leadership, guidance, and support to shop floor employees, fostering a positive team environment focused on safety, quality, and collaboration.
• Support onboarding, training, and development of production employees to build capability and performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies, EHS procedures, and manufacturing safety standards.
• Partner with Quality teams to ensure products meet specifications and support investigations into production deviations.
• Drive continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and improve shop floor performance.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as output, scrap, downtime, and labor efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations.
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or relevant degree from an accredited university or college OR a High school diploma / GED with at least 10-12 years of manufacturing experience in a similar industry.
• Minimum 2 years in an engineering role.
• Minimum 2 - 3 years in a supervision or leadership role.
• Good Computer skills (MS office, Oracle).
• Good Presentation skills and Public speaking skills.
• Fluent in English.

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering).
• Good knowledge about Lean, 5S, Kaizen.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Established project management skills.
• Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Wind Turbines, major Fabrication or similar industries is a plus.
• Know how to work under pressure with excellent organizational skills.

Eligibility Requirements

• Work Week 4x10: Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shift. Must be willing to work Fridays based on business needs.
• The position is first shift (5:00 AM to 3:30 PM CST), Monday through Thursday (4x10 schedule), with occasional Fridays.
• This position is for 1st shift: 5.00 am - 3:30pm CST.
• This position is require to work 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Pensacola, FL Factory.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $81,700.00 and $136,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
