Laboratory technician - cytotechnologist

Cytologist Schedule

Full-time position with shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekend, on-call, or holiday requirements.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 52 weeks. Guaranteed hours: not specified.

Requirements

• Cytologist (CT) ASCP certified or eligible (contingent upon passing certification).
• Bachelor's of Science required; new graduates accepted.
• Experience with rose procedure and fine needle aspiration procedures preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment with proceduralists.

Responsibilities

• Microscopically examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for cancerous and pre-cancerous cells.
• Assist in obtaining diagnostic quality samples.
• Provide feedback on fine needle aspiration procedures.
• Screen a designated amount of paps per day and divide non-gen specimens.
• Collaborate with a team consisting of other cytologists and lab processors.
