THIS OPPORTUNITY

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our Louisville, Kentucky office. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of industrial hygiene, environmental, health, and safety professionals supporting a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, governmental, and infrastructure clients.

In this role, you will provide industrial hygiene and environmental consulting services, conduct workplace exposure assessments, support environmental compliance initiatives, and assist clients in identifying and managing occupational and environmental risks. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior professionals while managing projects and client relationships in a dynamic consulting environment.

YOUR IMPACT

• Perform industrial hygiene assessments for potential health hazards at client facilities, including evaluations related to chemicals, particulates, noise, mold, asbestos, indoor air quality, and ventilation systems.
• Conduct industrial hygiene exposure assessments including walkthrough surveys, inspections, source and air sampling, worker exposure monitoring, and hazard control evaluations.
• Support environmental compliance and due diligence projects involving environmental health and safety (EHS) programs, hazardous materials management, and regulatory compliance assessments.
• Assist clients with environmental permitting, compliance audits, environmental site assessments, and risk management initiatives.
• Evaluate workplace and environmental data to identify potential risks and recommend practical solutions to improve employee health, safety, and environmental performance.
• Prepare concise technical reports documenting assessment findings, exposure data, regulatory interpretations, and recommended corrective actions.
• Interpret applicable federal, state, and local occupational health, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Manage projects, task orders, budgets, schedules, and client communications for projects of moderate size and complexity.
• Coordinate project activities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including environmental scientists, engineers, geologists, and health and safety professionals.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance during field investigations and project execution.
• Lead industrial hygienists and client EHS representatives in planning, coordinating, and executing industrial hygiene and environmental projects.
• Ensure quality deliverables that meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and WSP standards.

WHO YOU ARE

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
• 5+ years of post-education experience performing industrial hygiene assessments in consulting, manufacturing, industrial, environmental, or related settings.
• Experience conducting occupational exposure monitoring, workplace hazard assessments, and industrial hygiene investigations.
• Experience supporting environmental compliance programs, environmental audits, permitting activities, or environmental due diligence projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Kentucky environmental regulations, and related occupational health and environmental compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with industrial hygiene instrumentation and sampling methodologies.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, regulators, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and consistently deliver high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to client sites as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to pass background and drug screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related discipline.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification or ability to obtain certification.
• AHERA Asbestos Inspector and/or Management Planner accreditation.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Previous environmental consulting experience.
• Experience with environmental compliance audits, environmental permitting, environmental site assessments (Phase I/II), or sustainability initiatives.
• Familiarity with AIHA exposure assessment strategies and statistical software applications.
• Experience managing client relationships and business development activities.
