Provides hospital-based clinical and administrative services involving primary medical care to patients in an internal medicine practice setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

WellSpan Medical Group seeks full-time Physician, Hospitalist for their WellSpan Chambersburg and Waynesboro Hospital locations in Franklin County. Individual must be a graduate of accredited school of medicine with Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree plus completion of internal medicine residency training program. Must have PA medical license and be board certified/eligible in internal medicine. Will provide continual oversight and longitudinal care of hospitalized patients in medical wards, acute care units and intensive care units. Provide ongoing management and coordination of patient care throughout treatment. Will diagnose and provide non-surgical treatment of diseases and injuries to hospital patients. Typically manages 14 to 18 patients per shift.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
• Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

• Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
• Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

• Diplomate of a specialty appropriate Board. Upon Hire Required and
• Completion of a specialty appropriate residency. Upon Hire Required and
• Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of the Hospital. Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Teaching skills (if assigned to York Hospital).
