POSITION SUMMARY

TFHC is seeking an experienced Health Information Management (HIM) Director to oversee medical records operations across our organization. Reporting to the Chief Regulatory Officer, this position will lead the Medical Records team, streamline electronic health record workflows, establish standardized procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance.

This is a 100% onsite position in Tampa, Florida, requiring regular travel between TFHC locations. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct HIM and medical records operations across multiple TFHC locations.
• Supervise, train, and develop Medical Records staff.
• Standardize procedures and improve operational efficiency.
• Oversee medical record accuracy, retention, release of information, and electronic health record workflows.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership, IT, quality, and compliance teams.
• Conduct audits, monitor performance, and implement process improvements.
• Develop HIM policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
• Support patient privacy, information security, and continuity of care.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; master's degree preferred.
• RHIA or RHIT certification, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five years of successful supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical records management.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and process improvement skills.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work onsite and travel between TFHC locations; reliable transportation required.

Work Requirements: This position is 100% onsite. New hires must also be available for up to 40 hours of in-person training during their first week, with additional mandatory training potentially continuing for two to three weeks at designated TFHC locations.
