Head of Portfolio Strategy

The Head of Portfolio Strategy leads the long-term strategic direction of JTI Liggett's RMC portfolio, defining brand roles, positioning, and growth priorities to drive sustainable business performance.

This role shapes portfolio strategy, identifies new growth opportunities, and ensures investments and resources are focused on the initiatives with the greatest commercial impact. Working closely with Brand Strategy Managers and cross-functional stakeholders, the Head of Portfolio Strategy ensures brand strategies are differentiated, consumer-focused, and aligned with overall business objectives.

The role also leads and develops the Brand Strategy team, driving strategic excellence, collaboration, and accountability while translating portfolio priorities into actionable plans and measurable results.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Strategy, or a related field
• 7–10 years of experience in Brand Management, Portfolio Management, Consumer Marketing, Commercial Strategy, or relevant FMCG roles
• Proven experience in portfolio strategy, brand positioning, and long-term growth planning
• Strong understanding of consumer insights, market dynamics, brand development, and commercial opportunities
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to prioritize investments and challenge recommendations
• Proven people leadership and talent development capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills
• Ability to translate complex insights into clear strategic priorities and actionable recommendations
• Fluent in English

Areas of Responsibilities:

Portfolio Strategy & Governance

• Define long-term portfolio strategy, brand roles, positioning, and growth priorities
• Ensure brand strategies are differentiated, complementary, and aligned with business objectives
• Evaluate strategic opportunities and prioritize resources based on commercial impact
• Challenge recommendations and resolve portfolio-level trade-offs

Growth & Commercial Strategy

• Identify growth opportunities across brand architecture, innovation, packaging, communications, pricing, and market expansion
• Translate consumer insights and market trends into actionable strategic initiatives
• Assess commercial viability and ensure initiatives support portfolio growth

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and develop the Brand Strategy team
• Set clear priorities and expectations, ensuring quality and accountability
• Strengthen strategic capabilities and support talent development and succession planning

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Pricing, Strategic Insights, Sales, Trade & Consumer Activation, Digital, Finance, and Supply Chain
• Align portfolio strategy with commercial plans and business execution
• Communicate strategic priorities and ensure consistent brand positioning across the business
• Monitor business impact and use insights to inform future portfolio decisions
