Job Purpose:

The Front End Manager at Hugo's Family Marketplace is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-end department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining efficient cashier and courtesy clerk performance. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage scheduling, training, and inventory control while fostering a positive and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Schedule and monitor the performance of cashiers and courtesy clerks to ensure efficient service.
• Train front-end staff in customer service techniques, cash handling, and store policies.
• Control inventory of front-end supplies to ensure availability and manage costs.
• Ensure proper bagging techniques are used to protect customer purchases.
• Maintain a clean and organized front-end area through a comprehensive housekeeping program.
• Demonstrate great communication and listening skills to effectively interact with customers and staff.
• Exhibit attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

• Minimum high school diploma
• Some college coursework or Associate’s degree in business, retail management, or a related field

Required Experience:

• Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

Preferred Experience:

• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed
• Comfortable bending, reaching, and performing repetitive motions
