Job Description

Help Deliver the Kalahari Experience

At Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, we don’t just create vacations—we craft unforgettable experiences. Home to America’s Largest Indoor Waterparks, our African-inspired resorts offer world-class dining, luxurious spas, thrilling entertainment, and cutting-edge convention centers that redefine hospitality.

But we’re more than a resort. As a family-owned company, our Promise is simple: Lead with Love. This means caring deeply for our guests, associates, and communities—treating people like family, giving back generously, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued.

Through our partnership with charity: water, we’re also committed to bringing clean water to one million people in Africa.

F&B – Relief Manager

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Relief Manager. In this role, you will temporarily step in and oversee daily business operations when the regular manager is away, sick, or on vacation, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the planning, organization, and leadership of day-to-day tasks in the assigned workspace to achieve stated objectives across sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation. In this role, you’ll report to the Food and Beverage Director.

This role supports the restaurant leadership team in full-service and fast-casual settings and does not have sole responsibility for a single space. As such, the right individual will have the opportunity to learn all areas of Food and Beverage within The Resort as they prepare for the next step in their career growth with Kalahari Resorts.

As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll elevate the guest experience by ensuring every restaurant delivers exceptional service, consistent food quality, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Through strong leadership and team development, you’ll also enhance the associate experience by fostering engagement, accountability, and a culture where team members feel supported and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • With the assistance of outlet Managers, ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
  • Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs for all food and beverage outlets within the Resort.
  • Oversee all outlet supervisors and assistant managers on duty during the same shifts.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in full-service restaurant, bar, banquet, and kitchen management required.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is needed.

Preferred Requirements

  • At least 3 years of front-of-the-house operations supervisor and/or assistant management positions in a hotel or resort setting is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of directly related experience is preferred.
  • General Food and Beverage and P&L knowledge is preferred.

A Sampling of Our Benefits

Our team enjoys a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Career growth opportunities with promotion from within
  • 401(k) matching, paid time off, and holiday compensation
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage for full-time associates
  • Employee appreciation events, discounts, and perks at all resorts
  • Education assistance programs to help advance your career
