Family store warehouse supervisor (8048)

This position is responsible for:

• Supervising and participating in the work performed by employees, beneficiaries and/or community service workers in the warehouse;
• Ensures that all donated items are processed through the warehouse in a timely manner and in accordance with established standards;
• Ensures the Family Store remains adequately stocked.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serves as a lead worker to warehouse staff (employees, beneficiaries, and community service workers) and volunteers;
• Schedules and monitors their work;
• Instructs and trains staff in the proper methods and procedures for performing work;
• Inspects work in progress and upon completion for accuracy and completeness;
• Responds to employees questions and assists in resolving operational and personnel problems;
• Ensures the work is performed in compliance with established standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner.
• Monitors the supply of items available in the warehouse in order to determine the areas needing additional stock.
• Inspects donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, food, etc.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Needs to meet attendance requirement.

Qualifications Education and Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred and three (3) years of experience performing warehouse work with at least six (6) months experience in a supervisory capacity OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:

Valid State Driver's License
