Family Partner - Part Time

The Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) program provides crisis and behavioral health assessment, intervention, and stabilization services 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and 365 days per year (24/7/365) for individuals of all ages who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

The mission of MCI is to respond rapidly, assess effectively, and deliver a course of treatment intended to promote recovery, ensure safety, and stabilize the crisis in a manner that allows the person served to receive appropriate services in the community, or if medically necessary, in an inpatient or 24-hour diversionary level of care.

The Family Partner is an integral member of the interdisciplinary Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) component of the larger Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC).

Drawing from their lived experience as a caregiver of a youth with special needs and/or behavioral health needs, the Family Partner uses their unique perspective to build trust, foster connection, and support family empowerment. This experience informs their ability to support the delivery of welcoming, supportive, and responsive MCI services to families experiencing a behavioral health and/or substance use crisis.

The Family Partner:

  • provides advocacy, encouragement, education, and practical support to families served throughout the MCI process
  • co-responds with the MCI Clinician to participate in mobile crisis intervention with youth and their families
  • provides follow-up crisis stabilization services and support to families in navigating the behavioral health system and provides brief interventions that address behavior and safety
  • assists in identifying and accessing appropriate resources
  • participates in the referral and coordination process
  • works collaboratively with the families served to promote engagement and provide support during the transition to ongoing services, strengthen advocacy skills, and build the confidence needed to support their child’s well-being and development

NOTE: This position requires that the applicant is a parent with lived experience navigating the special education, DCF, DMH, DDS, or mental health service delivery system on behalf of your child. Applicants who do not demonstrate this experience cannot be considered for this role.

Schedule: Part Time 24 hours per week; Thursday through Saturday 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Pay Rate:

$22.94/hour

  • additional $1 for CPS
  • additional $2 for CARC
