The Laney Graduate School (LGS) at Emory University seeks a highly organized, proactive, and relationship-oriented Executive Administrative Assistant to support the Dean and Associate Dean in a fast-paced and dynamic academic environment. Serving as a trusted partner within the Dean’s Office, this role is responsible for managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings and travel, preparing executive briefings and correspondence, and facilitating communication with university leaders, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in advancing the mission of one of the nation’s leading graduate schools while working closely with senior university leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, and day-to-day operations.
The Executive Assistant to the LGS Dean plays a critical role in managing the daily operations in support of the Dean’s Office. Reporting to the Dean, the Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support to both the Dean and Associate Dean—strategically managing schedules, coordinating complex travel, preparing detailed briefings in consultation with the appropriate offices, and ensuring smooth communication across internal and external constituencies.
This position will provide daily and long-range assistance on a wide range of assignments both internal and external to the division, will provide administrative support to the Dean on a variety of campuswide and/or divisional issues, projects, and programs.
This position requires an individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and able to anticipate the Dean’s needs. A successful candidate must be confident, discreet, and comfortable respectfully challenging ideas in pursuit of the best outcomes.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using a variety of digital platforms and administrative systems.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software tools.
The role is primarily in-person, on Emory’s main campus.
Preference will be given to those applicants with experience in higher education working with senior university leadership.
Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
