Event dj & master of ceremonies

We are seeking a professional, high-energy Event DJ & MC to provide audio entertainment, crowd engagement, and seamless music execution for [Name of Event / Type of Venue]. The ideal candidate knows how to read a room, transition smoothly across genres, manage event timelines, and maintain a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.

Key Responsibilities

• Music & Performance: Perform live DJ sets tailored to the event theme, demographic, and client preferences. Curate playlists and take real-time song requests as appropriate.
• Master of Ceremonies (MC): Make clear, professional announcements (e.g., introductions, schedule transitions, main attractions) using proper microphone etiquette.
• Equipment & Setup: Supply, set up, test, and break down all necessary sound equipment (speakers, mixer, wireless microphones) and lighting gear. Ensure all equipment is safety-compliant and operating at optimal audio quality.
• Timeline Coordination: Work closely with the event organizer, coordinator, or venue staff to ensure music cues align with the event schedule.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Swiftly resolve any technical or audio issues that arise during performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of professional DJing experience at private events, weddings, corporate functions, or venues (portfolio or audio samples required).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with professional DJ hardware (controllers, turntables, mixers) and software (Serato, Rekordbox, Traktor, etc.).
• Equipment: Must own or have access to reliable, high-quality audio gear, wireless microphones, and basic event lighting (unless venue provides sound).
• Soft Skills: Excellent crowd-reading ability, strong verbal communication, punctual, and adaptable to real-time changes.
• Logistics: Reliable personal transportation capable of moving sound equipment.
• Insurance: Commercial general liability insurance is preferred (or required by venue).

Preferred Skills

• Experience catering to diverse age groups and music tastes (Top 40, Pop, Hip-Hop, Electronic, Oldies, Latin, etc.).
• Backup equipment strategy in case of hardware failure.
