Job Description

Engineering Manager

Location: Nashville, TN (in person)

Salary: $70-$75k plus comprehensive benefits

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team at a luxury hotel in Nashville. You will keep guest rooms, public spaces, and building systems performing to a luxury standard, with equipment uptime that supports uninterrupted stays and events. You will partner daily with Rooms Division, Culinary, Events, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multi-trade engineering team, setting clear standards and coaching technicians, with a succession plan for key trades
  • Move the department from reactive repairs to a preventive maintenance program that reduces repeat work orders and extends asset life
  • Manage the maintenance operating budget and a defined capital plan
  • Deliver capital and renovation projects on schedule and within budget, with minimal disruption to guests
  • Oversee building automation and life-safety systems
  • Keep the property inspection-ready across life safety, codes, and brand standards, closing issues before they become incidents
  • Manage vendor contracts and parts so response times, quality, and cost stay aligned with the guest experience
  • Lead response to guest recoveries and after-hours equipment failures

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience leading a hotel or comparable hospitality engineering team, with results you can describe in uptime, cost, and guest impact
  • Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and building controls in a full-service property
  • Track record of preventive maintenance programs and capital projects completed on time, on budget, and with guests in house
  • Working fluency with a CMMS
  • Relevant licensure or technical credentials
  • Ability to brief executives and coach technicians with equal clarity

What the role offers

A property where design, art, and hospitality are treated as one experience, with engineering as part of the craft. Ownership of people, budget, and the building. A culture that pairs Southern warmth with exacting standards.
