THE ROLE:

Join AMD's engineering lab operations team and help enable the testing, validation, and development of next-generation technologies. In this hands-on role, you will partner closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to execute lab work orders, support product debug activities, and ensure critical testing objectives are completed safely, efficiently, and with a high level of quality. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic technical environment while contributing directly to key product development milestones.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and thrives in a collaborative lab environment. You enjoy working with hardware, following structured test processes, troubleshooting issues, and partnering with engineers to solve complex challenges. Strong analytical thinking, a commitment to quality, and effective communication skills will help you succeed in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and maintain power, performance, and characterization test platforms.
• Execute validation and characterization test plans on pre-production CPU and GPU products.
• Collect, analyze, and document test results with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist engineering teams with hardware, software, and system-level debug activities.
• Monitor test systems and ensure adherence to lab processes and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product validation and bring-up efforts.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working in a semiconductor test lab, manufacturing, or engineering support environment.
• Understanding of PC hardware, system architecture, and component interactions.
• Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems and scripting/programming concepts such as Python.
• Exposure to performance, power, thermal, or silicon validation testing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education preferred. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Relevant technical training, vocational coursework, or certifications are a plus.
