Employee relations consultant, north america – officer

This position supports the North America Employee Relations team on workplace investigations and employee relations matters, while independently managing performance-related matters across a range of client groups. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day employee relations matters including performance management, supporting investigations, and providing guidance to managers and HR Business Partners in accordance with company policies, employment laws, and established ER practices. The Employee Relations Officer will support and gain guidance from the more senior ERCs and develop strong case management, documentation, and advisory skills while escalating complex, sensitive, or higher risk matters as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the North America Employee Relations team in conducting workplace investigations, including organizing materials, preparing interview outlines, documenting interviews, and assisting with investigation summaries using case management technology.
• Independently manage performance, attendance, and routine employee relations matters across a range of client groups for the organization’s Associate, Officer, and AVP populations, with escalation of complex or higher-risk issues as appropriate.
• Provide guidance to managers and HR partners on performance improvement plans, coaching documentation, counseling memoranda, and related employee relations documentation using a consultative approach that supports clear, practical decision making.
• Gather relevant facts, maintain accurate case notes, track follow-up items, and ensure case files are complete and organized in accordance with internal standards using established technology solutions and knowledge management resources.
• Coordinate input from country-specific ER Consultants, Legal, Compliance, Security, HR Business Partners, and other subject matter experts as directed or as needed escalating matters as needed.
• Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws, and exercise responsible stewardship of sensitive employee information.
• Assist in preparing case materials, summaries, timelines, and related documentation for review by senior ERCs or appropriate governance forums.
• Draft routine employee relations correspondence, counseling documents, warning memoranda, and other materials for review and approval before delivery.
• Maintain systems and operations in accordance with corporate standards, controls, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead Employee Relations projects, such as maintaining the ER Toolkit and intranet page.
• Use available data and reporting tools to identify recurring issues, trends, root causes, and emerging workplace risks, and raise actionable observations to ER leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, employment law, investigations, or a related field, and a BS or BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of employee relations practices, performance management, workplace investigations, and applicable employment policies and procedures.
• Strong judgment and ability to identify when matters require escalation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and well-organized case documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Comfortable interacting with diverse managers, HR partners, employees, and stakeholders across a range of client groups.
• Collaborative, practical, and solutions-oriented approach, with a willingness to learn from and support more senior Employee Relations team members.
• Use available data and reporting tools to identify recurring issues, trends, root causes, and emerging workplace risks, and raise actionable observations to ER leadership.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $113,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
