In addition to providing day-to-day administrative support, the Coordinator assists with employee events, professional development programs, community-building activities, and the Employee-Led Network program. The Office of Employee Engagement is part of SDSU’s Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity and is dedicated to supporting employees throughout their careers. The office helps attract and onboard talented staff, promote professional growth and leadership development, strengthen employee engagement and retention, and support transitions when employees move on to new opportunities. Through resources such as the Student Affairs and Campus Diversity Employee Engagement Hub, community events, networking opportunities, professional development programs, the Leadership Prep Academy, employee lounge access, and employee-led networks, the office fosters connection, mentorship, inclusion, and a community of care across the division.

Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
