On-Site Construction Medical Services

FirstCare Onsite is seeking an experienced and professional Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team providing on-site medical and occupational health services at a construction project. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced EMT looking for an excellent work-life balance, competitive compensation, and a low-stress work environment outside of the traditional ambulance or emergency medical services setting.

The EMT will be stationed at an on-site medical facility and will provide first aid for minor work-related injuries while assisting with occupational health and screening services. The position is generally low-volume and low-stress compared with traditional EMS. However, First Care maintains high expectations for professionalism, punctuality, documentation, clinical readiness, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, comfortable working independently, and able to remain prepared to respond appropriately when medical care is required.

Role Responsibilities

• Providing first aid for minor work-related injuries
• Initial assessment of employees presenting with workplace injuries or medical concerns
• Basic wound care and first aid
• Assisting with occupational health screenings
• Performing and documenting drug and alcohol testing as required
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
• Maintaining the organization and readiness of the on-site medical facility
• Monitoring medical and first-aid supplies
• Communicating appropriately with First Care clinical and operational leadership
• Following established First Care clinical protocols and site-specific procedures
• Escalating patients to higher levels of medical care when clinically appropriate

Unlike traditional EMS positions involving frequent emergency calls, ambulance transport, and high patient volumes, this position provides an opportunity to utilize your EMT experience in a controlled, professional, on-site environment. The position is well suited for an experienced EMT seeking a more predictable clinical setting while remaining involved in-patient care, workplace safety, and occupational medicine.

Although the environment is typically low stress, low volume does not mean low expectations. We expect our EMTs to remain attentive, professional, prepared, and responsive throughout their shift.

Role Qualifications

• Current EMT certification
• Minimum 3 years of EMT experience required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional and dependable
• Comfortable working independently
• Ability to accurately complete medical and occupational health documentation
• Comfortable utilizing computers and workplace technology
• Previous experience with occupational medicine, construction, or workplace health services is preferred but not required
• Drug and alcohol testing experience is a plus
