Director of Quality Improvement

Location: Worcester, MA | Commitment: Full Time | Field: Hospital Leadership

We’re seeking an experienced Director of Quality Improvement to provide strategic and operational leadership for hospital-wide quality, performance improvement, patient safety, and accreditation initiatives.

This is a key leadership role working closely with hospital leadership, physicians, medical staff, and regulatory agencies to build a strong Culture of Safety, improve patient outcomes, and maintain continuous survey readiness.

What You’ll Lead

• Provide hospital-wide leadership for Quality and Performance Improvement programs.
• Develop and implement quality, patient safety, and performance improvement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead initiatives focused on patient outcomes, safety, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee quality data management, reporting, integrity, validity, and reliability.
• Partner with Medical Staff and hospital leadership to promote evidence-based, patient-centered care.
• Serve as a key liaison with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.
• Oversee continuous survey readiness and accreditation activities.
• Lead and support the Quality/Performance Improvement team and department.
• Promote the effective use of performance improvement methodologies throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with applicable HIPAA requirements, policies, and procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Active RN license required.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in nursing or another inpatient-care-related field.
• 5+ years of Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement experience.
• CPHQ certification, or eligibility to sit for the CPHQ exam within two years of employment.
• Strong experience with hospital quality, patient safety, performance improvement, accreditation, and regulatory readiness.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical leaders, and hospital executives.
