Oakwood Meadows is a 78-bed facility with 48 assisted living residents and 30 memory care residents (currently 100% occupied). Oakwood Meadows Assisted Living is looking for a Director of Nursing to manage & oversee the care staff (caregivers and med-techs). A strong history of managing staff and licensed LVN/RN is preferrable.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Manage staffing and daily assignments: Maintain adequate coverage, match assignments to resident needs, and coordinate breaks and meal periods while controlling overtime.
• Provide active supervision: Observe caregivers and medication technicians during daily work, confirm that care plans are followed, and address unsafe practices promptly.
• Train and develop staff: Provide orientation, hands-on coaching, and ongoing training; verify competency before staff perform assigned duties independently.
• Set expectations and hold staff accountable: Clearly communicate responsibilities, respond to staff concerns, and follow through with timely feedback, performance reviews, and corrective action.
• Oversee resident care and reporting: Monitor care quality, medication assistance, and documentation; ensure staff promptly communicate changes in condition, errors, incidents, and suspected abuse.

Position:

The Director of Nursing assumes full time administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. Manages facility employees in the provision of care and services according to professional standards of nursing practice, consistent with facility philosophy of care and county, state and federal laws and regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• License: Current, active license as a Registered Nurse
• Work Experience: 3 years professional nursing experience in long term care setting, 1 year administrative experience in nursing service administration or comparable management experience
