Customer Service Representative (Contact Center Associate I)

Location: Grinnell, IA (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Starting Wage: $17.15+/hour, adjusted based on experience

About the Role

Now, we’re looking for a Customer Service Representative (Contact Center Associate I) to join our team in Grinnell. This is your chance to be on the front line of our customer experience, where every call, chat, and email shapes how our customers view our brand.

In this role, you’ll answer a high volume of inbound calls (75+ daily) and assist customers with order placement, account creation, returns, and questions about product availability or compatibility. You’ll keep customer records accurate in our systems and develop a strong foundation in Brownells products, services, and policies.

What You’ll Do

• Provide accurate and courteous service across phone, email, and chat
• Process orders, returns, and account updates with attention to detail
• Maintain accurate customer information in company systems
• Build product and policy knowledge to support customer needs
• Partner with teammates and cross-functional departments to deliver seamless service

What You Bring

• A high school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfort navigating web-based applications, Microsoft Teams, and multi-screen environments
• Ability to type 45+ words per minute accurately
• Prior customer service or call center experience is helpful, but not required
• Familiarity with Brownells products and website is a plus
