Position Title: Corrections Food Services Coordinator (Wilsonville) Temporary Opportunity

This position is a temporary appointment anticipated to last 6 months, though, may be extended or decreased due to business need. Internal candidates may be considered as a job rotation with their current manager's approval.
As a Food Service Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in managing daily food operations within the correctional facility, ensuring meals are prepared safely, served on time, and meet nutritional standards. You’ll coordinate, instruct, and lead adults in custody (AICs) who participate in food service work programs, helping them gain valuable skills for the future.
These positions are based in the food preparation areas of correctional facilities and require willingness to work in a secure institutional setting, including enforcing security protocols such as conducting area inspections and searches of AICs for contraband, while maintaining order, discipline, and a secure, efficient food service operation.
This position is unrepresented and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Temporary appointments do not have to meet the minimum qualifications for the position and are not eligible for benefits.

These positions work inside an adult correctional facility and may encounter angry, hostile or abusive Adult in Custody (AIC), which could result in personal injury, death or becoming a hostage. You are responsible for handling AIC incidents in the immediate work area as well as preventing escapes by proper control of keys, tools, equipment, and other potential contraband.
You are required to report and document unusual incidents.
High noise level at all times, extreme variations in temperatures, stands and walks for long periods of time on concrete floors, and required to bend for searches. Employee deals with wet and slippery floors and with Adults in Custody daily.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
