Group/Division

The Legal Compliance Organization (LCO) provides legal guidance to further KLA’s strategic objectives and protect and preserve the company's legal, ethical and financial integrity and reputation. Drawing on expertise in corporate law, commercial law, employment law, ethics and compliance, and intellectual property, the LCO offers strategic legal counsel that is informed by a clear understanding of the company’s business objectives and knowledge of the laws and regulations relevant to the business worldwide.

The Corporate Investigator will be a member of KLA's Legal & Compliance Organization and will report to the Director of Corporate Investigations. The Corporate Investigator will be responsible for investigating allegations involving potential violations of KLA's policies, values, Code of Conduct, and applicable laws and regulations. The Corporate Investigator will conduct fair, impartial, and thorough investigations, including interviews, document review and analysis, collaboration with outside counsel and investigative service providers, preparation of investigative reports and recommendations, and presentation of findings to stakeholders throughout the organization. The successful candidate must demonstrate the highest levels of integrity, professionalism, objectivity, and sound judgment. The Investigator must be able to manage multiple investigations simultaneously, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and address sensitive issues in a professional and impartial manner.

Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as a full-time investigator responsible for investigating allegations involving potential violations of KLA's policies, values, Code of Conduct, or applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct investigations involving fraud, intellectual property theft, insider risk activity, anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, privacy concerns, cybersecurity-related matters, workplace misconduct, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower allegations, and other ethics and compliance concerns.
• Initiate and complete all phases of investigations, including intake assessment, investigative planning, fact gathering, evidence analysis, root cause identification, report writing, recommendations, and presentation of findings.
• Conduct complainant, witness, and subject interviews and evaluate information to make reasoned, objective, and defensible investigative findings.
• Collaborate with outside counsel, digital forensic firms, investigation vendors, eDiscovery providers, and other third-party service providers in support of investigations.
• Lead and coordinate document reviews, including the collection, review, analysis, and preservation of electronic and physical evidence.
• Prepare clear, concise, and defensible investigative reports, executive summaries, briefing materials, and presentations.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Employee Relations, Human Resources, Cybersecurity, Corporate Audit, and business stakeholders globally to support investigations and related initiatives.
• Support the continuous improvement of KLA's investigations program, including investigative procedures, case management systems, reporting, metrics, training, and program governance.
• Conduct training and awareness sessions regarding KLA's investigation process, reporting channels, whistleblower protections, and the importance of raising concerns.
• Support the Legal & Compliance Organization on additional projects, strategic initiatives, and special assignments as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, Employee Relations, Compliance, or a related field.
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification or equivalent investigative certification preferred.
• Five to seven years of experience conducting internal investigations in a corporate, compliance, legal, regulatory, government, law enforcement, consulting, or law firm environment.
• Experience conducting investigative fieldwork, including interviews, evidence gathering, investigative analysis, credibility assessments, and report writing.
• Experience managing document reviews and analyzing large volumes of information, electronic evidence, and investigative records.
• Experience working with outside counsel, forensic consultants, eDiscovery providers, and other external investigation partners.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across functions, regions, cultures, and levels of the organization.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, interviewing, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and independently manage sensitive and complex matters.
• Self-motivated and able to balance legal, compliance, investigative, and business considerations.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, objectivity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to approximately 25%.
• Experience working in a global organization and conducting investigations across multiple regions and jurisdictions.
• Experience conducting complex investigations across ethics, compliance, fraud, cybersecurity, insider risk, whistleblower, and workplace misconduct matters.
• Knowledge of global compliance, anti-corruption, data privacy, and whistleblower protection frameworks.
• Experience utilizing eDiscovery, case management, document review, data analytics, digital forensic, or AI-enabled investigative platforms.
• Familiarity with investigative technologies such as Relativity, Microsoft Purview, or similar platforms.
• Experience preparing investigative reports and presenting findings and recommendations to Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, Audit, and business stakeholders.
• Experience supporting monitoring, trend analysis, risk identification, and root cause analysis efforts related to investigations.
• Fluency in English; additional language capabilities are a plus.
• Working knowledge of AI tools and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Power BI AI capabilities, workflow automation tools) and the ability to leverage such tools responsibly to improve operational effectiveness.

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years.

Total Rewards
