Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Certified Reefer Technician for a full-time opportunity in Medley, Florida. This role focuses on advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and preventative maintenance of transport refrigeration units serving fleet and owner-operator customers.

IMPORTANT:

Candidates must hold valid factory certification from either Thermo King or Carrier. Candidates must also be located in or near the Medley / Miami area, as relocation assistance is not available.

COMPENSATION

• $40.00 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Perform advanced diagnostics on transport refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose starting and charging systems, cooling systems, electrical components, and common fault codes.
• Perform complex mechanical and refrigeration repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specifications.
• Identify and obtain replacement parts needed to complete repairs efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with corporate and federal safety and health requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, cooling, starting, and charging-system issues.
• Interpret and resolve common and complex fault codes.
• Perform refrigerant leak-detection procedures.
• Replace compressors, evaporators, and condensers.
• Solder refrigerant lines.
• Replace front and rear main engine seals.
• Perform routine service and preventative maintenance on reefer units.
• Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
• Identify, source, and obtain required replacement parts.
• Follow established corporate and federal safety requirements.

Requirements

• Valid factory certification from Thermo King or Carrier REQUIRED
• Proven ability to diagnose and perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs on transport refrigeration units REQUIRED
• Experience with refrigerant handling REQUIRED
• Experience soldering refrigerant lines REQUIRED
• Experience performing major engine-seal replacements REQUIRED
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve common and complex reefer fault codes REQUIRED
• Must be located in or near the Medley / Miami, FL area REQUIRED
